It seems consumer access to technology is still quite low in healthcare, especially compared to what people might be looking for.
In a recent survey conducted by Nielsen of more than 5,000 patients and over 600 physicians, only 21% of people reported having access to online appointment scheduling and only 9% reported receiving appointment reminders by text, compared to 28% that were interested in receiving them.
With technology being such a big part of our everyday lives, this survey is latest evidence that there is tremendous opportunity for healthcare providers to use technology to better engage consumers.
